On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, the School of Electrical and Informatics Engineering ITB received a visit from Representatives of The International Urban and Regional Cooperation program (IURC). The IURC team was welcomed by the Dean of STEI ITB, Dr. Tutun Juhana, S.T., M.T., Vice Dean of Academic for STEI ITB, Dr. techn. Saiful Akbar, S.T, M.T., Vice Dean of Resources for STEI ITB, Dr. Widyawardana Adiprawita, S.T, M.T., and Lecturer from Software and Knowledge Engineering Research Group, Dr. tech. Wikan Danar Sunindyo, S.T, M.Sc.

The visit was part of a series of comparative studies by IURC to Bandung, in collaboration with the City of Rome, Italy, especially in the urban food sector and sustainable agriculture. The cooperation program has started since November 2021 and will last until 2023.

Sapienza University of Rome – C.I.T.E.R.A, as the key partner of the City of Rome, has expressed interest in developing cooperation with the City of Bandung with the theme of Renovation Wave, especially Green Buildings/energy efficiency in buildings.

The collaborative activity began with the ITB School of Electrical and Informatics Engineering (STEI ITB) as part of the academic cluster, with the participation of Dr. tech. Wikan Danar Sunindyo, S.T, M.Sc. in Summer School GIS-BIM 2022 3rd edition (July 2022) with the topic “the Digital Twin integrated with innovative solutions in the management of the design process of Green Infrastructure”.

The International Urban and Regional Cooperation program (IURC) is a European Union (EU) program that promotes decentralized multi-city cooperation in sustainable urban development, building partnerships between EU and non-EU cities on a global scale.

Through networking events, best practice sharing, comparative studies, knowledge exchange and direct contact with city officials, cities will be able to focus their cooperation. IURC enables local governments to implement pilot projects involving research, civil society & business partners.
