Undergraduate Program in Information System and Technology

The Information Technology and Systems study program is one of the new study programs within the ITB School of Electrical and Informatics Engineering. The Information Systems and Technology study program was developed in anticipation of the very rapid development of information systems.
Information systems as one of the academic fields in the undergraduate program includes two main areas, namely areas related to efforts:

  1. Planning, development, and evaluation of systems that are solutions to information management problems for organizations; and
  2. Planning, developing, evaluating the management of information technology used for the benefit of the organization’s information system.

As part of the process of increasing social and economic activities, the world community has entered a society that is oriented towards information and even further towards a knowledge society. Information systems and technology have become one of the determining factors in the dynamics of business and the development of organizations and communities in today’s global life. Information systems and technology have become an important part of everyday life which includes, among others, science, engineering / design, technology, products, services, operations, and management. The effective and efficient use of information systems and technology is an important element in achieving competitive advantage. Information systems and technology have been integrated in various fields of life, ranging from trade/business (Electronics-commerce), education and learning (e-education and e-learning), health (e-health), culture, transportation, industry, tourism, environment, collaboration (collaborative working), to the entertainment sector.
