Jakarta, CNN Indonesia — Grab officially announces that former boss Line, Ongki Kurniawan, now officially serves as Managing Director of GrabPay Indonesia.
Grab said Ongki’s appointment is expected to help GrabPay accelerate Kudo’s integration with Grab, build strong partnerships across the entire ecosystem, and expand Kudo’s online marketplace. Previously, Grab has acquired Kudo as one of the strategies to widen Grabpay in Indonesia.

As part of the leadership team in Indonesia, Ongki will be directly under Jason Thompson, Head of GrabPay. Meanwhile, Grab Indonesia is still led by Ridzki Kramadibrata as Managing Director.
Ongki position as Managing Director parallel to Ridzki as Managing Director of Grab Indonesia. “Yes parallel, and GrabPay is still in one Grab umbrella, not a different entity,” explained spokesman Grab Indonesia, when contacted CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (18/9).
Ongki alone will work with 150 local engineers at R & D Grab centers, as well as an extensive network of partners to build payment solutions for consumers and UKM Indonesia. He is also expected to provide differentiation in Indonesia’s payment industry which is still fresh and fragmented.

Ongki holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. He has completed all levels (1-3) of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program from The CFA Institute. (eks)
