Public Lecture “Utilization of Information Technology Applications”

The Informatics Engineering Study Program, Friday, April 8, 2011, held a public lecture with the theme "Development Plan and Utilization of Information Technology Applications in Indonesia for the Welfare of the Indonesian People in 2010 - 2015". The public lecture, held in Room 7602, was delivered by Dr. Ir. Ashwin Sasongko, Director General of Telematics Applications, Department of Communication & Informatics. This public lecture was attended by students participating in the IF 4092 course.

He explained the development of cyberspace. He explained that technological developments previously focused solely on real space. With the advancement of technology, specifically the digital revolution, the development of life in society has shifted to cyberspace.

The technology supporting the development of cyberspace consists of three components: access, network, and application. The access component focuses more on hardware, such as PCs, mobile devices, digital TVs, PDAs, and so on.

Network components such as cable, DSL, 3G, satellite, wireless, fiber optic, and software-focused applications such as content, advertising, VoIP, education, and finance. Therefore, we hope to create a healthier and safer cyberspace.
