Seven STEI ITB Students Participate in Global Startup Design Thinking Hackathon Day in South Korea
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id — Seven students from the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at Institut Teknologi Bandung (STEI ITB) participated in 2026 Global Startup Design Thinking Hackathon Day at Chung Ang University, South Korea, from September 29 to October 2, 2026. The participants were from the Telecommunication Engineering, Information Systems and Technology, and Informatics Engineering study programs.
The Telecommunication Engineering Study Program was represented by Keane Dylan Tandean and Muhammad Jafar Fadli, both fourth-year students. Meanwhile, the Information Systems and Technology Study Program was represented by Nazwan Siddqi Muttaqin and Wisa Ahmaduta Dinutama, who are also fourth-year students.
The other three participants were from the Informatics Study Program: Angelina Andra Alanna and Jennifer Khang, both third-year students, and Muhammad Kinan Arkansyaddad, a fourth-year student. Students from these three study programs brought diverse academic backgrounds in information and communication technology.
With a focus on startup development and ., the event provided a relevant learning opportunity for engineering students to explore the relationship between technology, user needs, and business ideas. This approach emphasizes the importance of understanding problems before developing solutions, giving ideas a clear direction and a focus on the needs they aim to address.
Participation in this international event is expected to broaden students' understanding of innovation development while providing opportunities to engage with an academic environment outside Indonesia. The participants' diverse academic backgrounds also equip them to examine problems from multiple perspectives.
Through their participation in the 2026 Global Startup Design Thinking Hackathon Day, STEI ITB students are expected to develop their creativity, collaboration skills, and awareness of user needs. This experience can serve as a foundation for developing technology ideas in their studies and future innovation activities.
