Mosaic Team STEI ITB Wins LSI Design Contest 2012 in Japan
LSI Design Contest is an annual event organized by University of The RyukyusOkinawa, Japan and sponsored by Sony LSI Design. This competition aims to increase interest among undergraduate and graduate students in the world of IC design. LSI is the term commonly used in Japan for integrated circuits or chips (IC or VLSI in the United States). Similar to previous years which took the theme of IC design for the communications field, this year's design theme focuses on designing circuits for processing Fast Fourier Transform (FFT).
This year, three Electrical Engineering students, Bontor Humala, Gest Elhasya, and Imran Abdurrahman, who are members of the Mozaik team, represented ITB and Indonesia in this contest. With guidance from Dr. Ir. Trio Adiono, their efforts and hard work paid off, winning the title. 2nd place for Best FPGA Implementation Award in the contest. The victory in the contest, which took place on March 16, 2012, further added to the long list of achievements of STEI ITB students and further demonstrated the existence and capabilities of STEI ITB students on the international stage.
