STEI Wins 2 Titles in the 19th LSI Design Contest 2016
STEI once again won awards at the 19th LSI Design Contest in Okinawa, Japan. In 2016, the STEI team won two awards:
- The Dago Eitricha team is led by Radhian Ferel Armansyah, Fadhli Dzil Ikram, Swizya Satira Nolika successfully won 2nd place (Synopsys AWARD)
- Sparkle Ganesha Team consisting of Mahendra Drajat Adhinata, Ricky Disastra, Novi Prihatiningrum successfully won the Electronic Device Industry News Award
The 2016 competition theme was human detection methods in images. This technology is widely used in digital cameras, automatic braking systems, and monitoring systems. At the presentation session held on March 11, 2016, the Dago Eitrichia Team presented a design entitled Parallel Morphological Template Matching for Fast Human Detection Application. Meanwhile, the Sparkle Ganesha team submitted a design entitled FPGA Implementation of Queue Counter using Template Matching with Sum of Absolute Difference Algorithm.
LSI Design Contest is an annual chip design contest organized by the University of the Ryukyus, Japan and attended by participants representing universities in Asia.
