Involving Hundreds of Researchers, This is ITB's Electric Car

"If we develop an electric SUV, we will develop one platform in 12 variants. We will also develop... city car and urban transportation (electric cars),” said the Head of the Electric Car Team at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Agus Purwadi, to detikFinance, Selasa (15/3/2016).
In addition, ITB is currently conducting a study for the development of a 3-wheeled electric motorbike to meet the demand of PT Pos Indonesia.
“We are trying to do a study prototype", a 3-wheeled electric vehicle for delivering goods," he said.
ITB will participate in research and development of low-to-midrange electric cars. This segment remains wide open, as the premium or upper-midrange electric car segment is dominated by developed countries like the United States and Europe.

To develop this electric car, ITB involved hundreds of experts, ranging from professors to students from various departments and faculties.
"We're involving six professors, 27 doctoral researchers, and 100 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students. This involves five faculties and 12 expert groups. This is a multidisciplinary project," he said.
