STEI ITB Welcomes Delegation from Kyungpook National University, South Korea
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI), Institut Teknologi Bandung, welcomed an official visit from a delegation of Kyungpook National University (KNU), South Korea. The meeting took place in the Meeting Room of Labtek V, 2nd Floor, ITB Campus, Bandung, on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.
This visit was part of both institutions’ efforts to explore opportunities for closer academic and research collaboration. The warm and productive discussion brought together leaders from both sides to discuss various potential forms of collaboration, focusing on three main agendas: student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and faculty mobility between STEI ITB and Kyungpook National University.
Representing STEI ITB, the meeting was attended by the Dean of STEI ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tutun Juhana, S.T., M.T., I.P.U., and the Vice Dean for Resources of STEI ITB, Dr.Eng. Ir. Arwindra Rizqiawan, S.T., M.T.
Meanwhile, the KNU delegation consisted of Dr. JUNG Soon Ki, Vice President for Research; Dr. CHOI Hee Kyung, Dean of the Office of International Affairs; Dr. KIM Dongkyun, Dean of Information Technology Services; Dr. YI Hak, Vice Dean of the Office of International Affairs; and Ms. Niki Lee, International Coordinator.
Also present at the visit was Ms. Maria Verena Emeralda, an Indonesian student currently pursuing her studies at KNU. Her presence enriched the discussion by offering valuable perspectives, while also serving as a real example of the potential relationship between the two institutions that can continue to be developed in the future.
Kyungpook National University is one of South Korea’s leading research universities, located in Daegu. KNU is known for its strong programs in information technology and engineering, which align closely with STEI ITB’s academic focus, making the two institutions potential partners in advancing science and technology.
STEI ITB hopes that this meeting will serve as a starting point for concrete and sustainable collaboration, supporting academic advancement and expanding the international network of ITB’s academic community.
