Faculty of Science and Engineering of Nusa Cendana University Conducts Benchmarking Visit to STEI ITB
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Institut Teknologi Bandung (STEI ITB), officially welcomed a delegation from the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FST), Universitas Nusa Cendana, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The visit was part of a benchmarking initiative and an effort to explore potential collaboration between higher education institutions in Indonesia.
The delegation from FST Universitas Nusa Cendana was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Prof. Philiphi de Rozari, S.Si., M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., accompanied by Dr. Ir. Erich U.K. Maliwemu, S.T., M.Eng., Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, as well as Dr. Ir. Jahirwan Ut. Jasron, S.T., M.T., Coordinator of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program.
The benchmarking activities focused on three main themes: the role of the Study Program Management Unit in the accreditation process, the implementation of internal quality assurance systems, and laboratory asset management governance. These topics were selected as key areas of study as FST Undana is currently striving to enhance the overall quality of faculty and study program management.
STEI ITB was chosen as a benchmarking partner for good reason. As one of ITB’s most prestigious engineering schools with a long-standing reputation for innovation in higher education, STEI ITB is regarded as having best practices in study program management, particularly in accreditation and educational quality standards. The mature systems and extensive experience developed within ITB are expected to serve as valuable references for FST Universitas Nusa Cendana in strengthening its institutional governance framework.
The visit of FST Universitas Nusa Cendana to STEI ITB reflects the growing spirit of collaboration among higher education institutions in Indonesia. The exchange of knowledge and experience between institutions from different regions is believed to be one of the key factors in improving the quality of higher education nationwide, including in Eastern Indonesia.
