Marvell Company gives public lecture at STEI
Marvell is a leading semiconductor company founded by Indonesian Sehat Sutardja and based in Silicon Valley. Within a year, Marvell had sold over 1 billion chips worldwide. Marvell's areas of expertise include microprocessor architecture and digital signal processing, large-capacity storage, mobile and wireless, networking, and green technologies.
In the public lecture held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, Marvell Technologies also delivered the lecture theme of "Delivering Technology for The Always-on Lifestyle". Marvell is quite focused on chip development, not on device production because it does not want to compete with clients as conveyed by Dr. Gani Yusuf - Vice President of Product Development, Communications and Consumer Business Group as a speaker at the public lecture. In addition, he also conveyed about future industry trends that might be a business opportunity for the nation's creative youth.
Prior to this public lecture, the Marvell team and the Electronics Research Group (KK Elektronika) – STEI ITB had discussed a possible collaboration. This collaboration could involve establishing a research center near ITB.
Profil Singkat Dr. Gani Yusuf
Dr. Gani Yusuf has served as Vice President of Product Development of Marvell Semiconductor's Communications Business Group since February 2000. From 1998 to February 2000, he was the Manager of Risers and Development for Agilent Technologies, a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard, developing test, measurement, and monitoring device products. From 1995 to 1998, he also served as Director of Engineering responsible for product development for Marvell Semiconductor. Dr. Gani Yusuf earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
