Public Lecture “Designing Trust in the Cyber-Physical Age”

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Bandung Institute of Technology (STEI ITB) held a public lecture entitled the development and resilience of cyber-physical systems on Thursday, February 6, 2026. This activity was held in the Multimedia Room of the Electronics Expertise Group, Labtek 8, 3rd Floor, and was attended by lecturers, researchers, and students.

This public lecture featured two speakers with expertise in cyber systems and digital resilience. Prof. Sofiène Tahar from Concordia University, Canada, presented a topic entitled Cyber-Physical Systems: Design and Verification Challenges which discusses the challenges in designing and verifying cyber-physical systems, particularly in ensuring the reliability, security, and safety of systems integrated between the digital and physical worlds.

In addition, Prof. Sarwono Sutikno from the Sumatra Institute of Technology delivered material entitled Ketahanan Siber Indonesia: Panduan Menghadapi Perang Siber-FisikIn his presentation, he emphasized the importance of national preparedness in facing increasingly complex cyber-physical threats, as well as the role of academics in strengthening cyber resilience strategies through research, education, and cross-sector collaboration.

Through this activity, STEI ITB hopes to broaden the academic community's insight into strategic issues in the field of cyber-physical systems while encouraging constructive scientific discussions in facing future technological challenges.
