ITB's School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics Holds "ABB Motion Goes to Campus" Workshop with ABB
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) hosted the "ABB Motion Goes To Campus" workshop, organized by ABB in collaboration with IEEE ITB. The three-day event, February 3–5, 2026, took place at the Conversion Laboratory, STEI ITB.
This workshop aims to introduce students directly to the application of motor drive technology and modern electrical systems. The program is attended by students from STEI ITB, specifically from the Electrical Engineering (EL) and Electrical Power/Energy and Drive Engineering (EP) study programs, which are closely related to ABB's industrial sector.
Deputy Dean for Resources of STEI ITB, Dr.Eng. Ir. Arwindra Rizqiawan, ST, MT, in his interview said that the program ABB Goes To Campus is a real form of interaction between industry and ITB, especially STEI.
"The ABB Goes To Campus program is a form of industrial interaction with ITB, especially STEI, where there are EP and EL Study Programs that are very close to ABB's field, especially in the field of motor drives. This program will be very beneficial because at ITB students are equipped with knowledge related to electric motors, power electronics, and electric drive systems, while ABB provides a platform to demonstrate the application of this knowledge as a real application used in industry with technology that is currently developing and actively used," he said.
He further added that the experience can broaden students' horizons through direct understanding of industry conditions and needs. While direct learning experiences in an industrial environment would provide more comprehensive learning, this program is already considered a significant improvement.
STEI ITB expressed its appreciation to ABB and IEEE ITB for their collaboration and the opportunity provided to students to gain industry-based learning experiences through the ABB Motion Goes To Campus program. This activity is expected to strengthen the synergy between academia, industry, and professional organizations in supporting the improvement of STEI ITB graduate quality.
