The ITB Electrical Engineering Alumni Association Provides Assistance for the Basic Electrical Engineering Laboratory
The Basic Electrical Engineering Laboratory of the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Bandung Institute of Technology (Basic Electrical Engineering Lab STEI ITB) is one of 19 laboratories within the STEI ITB environment. One specialty of the Basic Electrical Engineering Lab is that unlike other laboratories that focus on research activities, the Basic Electrical Engineering Lab has a function in organizing all mandatory practicums according to the curriculum of the STEI ITB Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Study Program. Therefore, the Basic Electrical Engineering Lab is the backbone of achieving the standard outcomes that are the targets of the STEI ITB Electrical Engineering study program.
The Basic Electrical Engineering Lab, located on the 3rd floor of Labtek VIII, has a maximum capacity of 650-700 students per semester, but the number of students it serves is still greater than the available capacity. This is because the Basic Electrical Engineering Lab also serves practicums for students in the Electrical Power Engineering, Information Systems and Technology, and, in the future, also for the Biomedical Engineering.
Efforts to develop the Basic Electrical Engineering Lab began with the addition of a new location, namely in the basement of Labtek VIII. To fulfill the required laboratory equipment, the Basic Electrical Engineering Lab received assistance from the Electrical Engineering Alumni Association (IAE) - ITB through the Amal4Alma Program. The Amal4Alma Program is an annual fundraising program for IAE-ITB by collecting voluntary donations from alumni during the month of Ramadan.
On July 24, 2016, the Chairman of IAE-ITB, Mr. Abdus Somad Arief and his staff visited the Basic Electrical Engineering Lab, both the existing one (in Labtek VIII, 3rd Floor) and the one being developed (in the basement of Labtek VIII). In addition to the laboratory visit, the Chairman of IAE-ITB handed over 688 million Rupiah worth of practical equipment for the Basic Electrical Engineering Lab to the Dean of STEI, Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring. The handover of the assistance was held to coincide with the IAE-ITB Halal Bi Halal event in the West Hall of ITB. For the assistance of the practical equipment provided, STEI expressed its highest gratitude and appreciation to IAE-ITB.
