The Tricorder Glove by Fransiska Putri Wina Hadiwidjana's Team Has Gained Global Attention
During his involvement in the Graduate Studies Program 2012 (GSP12) Singularity University at NASA Ames Research Park, Silicon Valley, United States, Fransiska Putri Wina Hadiwidjana (ITB Informatics alumnus 2008) along with Elishai Ezra and Andrew Bishara, their team called Med Sensation, successfully created a sensation among the international media. Their product, the Glove Tricorder, became one of the most highlighted projects at GSP12 due to its breakthrough in the health sector.
This product was born as the Med Sensation team's answer to GSP12's challenge to create something that would positively impact 1 billion people in 10 years. Resembling a glove with numerous cables, the Glove Tricorder can be equipped with sensors that detect temperature, vibration, and sound waves.
Fransiska was one of 80 participants in the main program of Singularity University Graduate Studies Program 2012 (GSP12) from June to August 2012. Fransiska was one of the youngest participants in this prestigious program which attracted 3000 applicants from all over the world. She was among the 40% women of the total GSP12 participants. Fransiska and Elishai Ezra as engineer together with Andrew Bishara from Harvard Medical School formed a team called Med Sensation. "Our mission is to create a paradigm shift in medicine so that future technology can be seamlessly integrated into the doctor-patient relationship, rather than being removed from it.
