Prof. Suhono: Smart City Tak Melulu soal Teknologi

Jakarta The assumption that smart cities are always synonymous with technology is not correct, because many other aspects are also important in assessing the level of "intelligence" of a city.

This was stated by ITB Professor Prof. Suhono Harso Supangkat in a statement received detikINETAccording to him, the cultural aspect of recognizing the city's basic problems is very important.

Smart governance is also crucial, including law enforcement against violations, such as parking, street vendors, and waste disposal. Therefore, these aspects will be used as assessment materials in the 2019 Indonesian Smart City Rating, which will be held from July to November 2019.

Suhono explained that the purpose of this activity was to assess the progress of urban development in Indonesia, specifically related to improving the quality of life through smart solutions. This included measuring the social, economic, and environmental aspects of smart solutions, in accordance with sustainable development principles, as a key component of the research.

"Enabling or enabling aspects such as human resources, governance, and infrastructure are fundamental to the measurement framework. This time, data will be a consideration for achieving better "real-time" Smart City management, or what's known as a Data-Driven Smart City," he explained.
