IF’10 Students: 1st Place in HIMSISFO Mobile Apps
The Himsisfo Mobile Apps Competition is an Android-based mobile app development competition held by Binus University in collaboration with Five Jack, a joint venture between Indonesia and Korea. In this competition, all participants compete to create an app. . with the theme "Explore Your Idea"The core point of the application assessment lies in the idea and creativity of the application being developed, and of course, it must have utility value.
The competition stages start from the initial selection in the form of proposal selection accompanied by selection prototype From all participants, eight finalists were selected to participate in a two-day app exhibition and judging process. Finalists in this competition included those from ITB, UI, and Binus.
The interesting thing about this competition is that the judging is done by the judges. founder Five Jacks, including judges from South Korea, will also participate in a voting process for exhibition attendees to choose their favorite app. These two scores will then be added together to determine the winner of the competition.
The application that our team is bringing to this competition is the application "Mom Watch You" is an application that connects parents with their children when the child is outside the home. With this application, parents can do tracking related to the child's current location. There's also a feature that allows parents to restrict their child's movement with the Location Restrictions feature. Using this feature, parents can restrict their child from playing too far from home (for example, within a 3 km radius of the house) or from traveling to certain areas (black list zone). If the child violates the rules, the parents will automatically receive a notification.
Another unique feature of this app is its ability to learn a child's movement patterns. For example, the app might learn that the child is at school every Monday starting at 7 a.m. If the child is not at school at 7 a.m. on Monday, the app will automatically notify the parents, as there is a possibility the child is in danger. Finally, there is an SOS feature that the child can use to send information that they are in danger. emergency, and the application will automatically guide parents to find their child's location.
Apart from application development, in this competition our team also developed prototype device This is a GPS-enabled watch that your child can wear while traveling. It also features a dedicated SOS button to quickly send an SOS signal when your child is in danger.
By developing this application, we, the Bakorteam team (Rizal Panji Islami, Okharyadi Saputra, and Benardi Atmadja, Informatics Engineering 2010) successfully won first place in the Android mobile application competition. Participants from Binus University took second and third place.
