Digital Collaboration for a Progressive Indonesia: STEI ITB and Telkom University Officially Open Joint-Lab Supported by Huawei Indonesia

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – In order to commemorate the 78th Postal and Telecommunications Service Day with the main theme “Digital Action Collaboration for Advanced Indonesia” The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and Telkom University officially launched a joint lab supported by Huawei Indonesia. The inauguration took place at the PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) Head Office in Bandung, West Java, on September 27, 2023, marking a significant milestone in the development of technology and human resources in Indonesia.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Budi Arie Setiadi, Minister of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia, who delivered a key remark on the key role of collaboration between universities, technology companies, and the government in realizing Indonesia's digital vision. Also in attendance were the Vice Rector of Telkom University and the Dean of STEI ITB. . as well as researchers and academics.

The strategic partnership between STEI ITB, Telkom University, and Huawei Indonesia encompasses various key aspects in supporting Indonesia's digital transformation. This includes human resource development to produce a skilled workforce in information and communication technology (ICT), planning digital transformation solutions and their ecosystems, and planning efficient and sustainable ICT infrastructure. Furthermore, consultations that prioritize good governance are a key focus of this collaboration.

This collaboration is believed to have a significant positive impact in supporting the vision “Indonesia Maju” through strengthening the information and communication technology sector and developing quality human resources.
