Latar Belakang

The development of data in very large volumes and growing rapidly today means that conventional data management and database software is no longer sufficient to carry out the functions of capturing, storing, managing and analyzing this very large amount of data (.).

Big data can be interpreted as a development of the traditional view of data management which previously relied heavily on relational databases, where unstructured data must begin to be managed to support the decision-making process. This new data source, namely unstructured dataresulting in a surge in size and complexity that exceeds the capacity and capabilities of existing conventional methods, techniques, and systems. Therefore, a new approach to data management is required.

Big data is data that generally has 4V characteristics, namely: variety (keragaman

struktur, keterhubungan), velocity (kecepatan pertumbuhan data, data stream), volume (amount), and veracity (accuracy and truth).

Currently, research on . has been widely conducted at various universities in various countries. Similar research is also being conducted in industry and government, considering the increasing need for big data management and the value (value) is increasingly high. Big data research and development in the future is predicted to become an increasingly needed trend in various fields, thus requiring further and more intensive attention to its applications in Indonesia.

 

Objective

  1. Building awareness and concern regarding the importance of using and developing .
  2. Menggalang komunitas . as an organization that can carry out big data development in Indonesia
  3. Ajang sharing and collaborate in research and development . to build sustainable partnerships (Network of Excellence)

  • Collaboration between academics, industry and government in the field of . (.)
  • Manifesto Big Data Center
