KNIF 2013 – CALL FOR PAPERS

The rapid development of informatics has created numerous opportunities and challenges for academics and practitioners to contribute more significantly in various sectors. The availability of increasingly reliable and widely accessible internet networks and the ever-increasing capacity of repositories have triggered the massive and ingrained use of information technology in various industrial sectors and in everyday life. In addition to these opportunities and challenges, this phenomenon also has the potential to impact the broader system, requiring further study. This conference is expected to foster a community of both academics and practitioners from across Indonesia who share a passion for informatics, who can gather, share, and discuss the potential, opportunities, and challenges in informatics, particularly in the domain of issues and opportunities within local communities in Indonesia.

The National Informatics Conference (KNIF) is a conference held annually by the Informatics Research Group (KK), School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Bandung Institute of Technology. This conference is expected to become an annual scientific meeting on hot topics in the field of informatics, as well as a means for researchers to communicate and present their research areas.

The first KNIF was held in 2010 with the theme "Intelligent Computing System". Furthermore, the second KNIF was held in 2011 with the theme "Kinerja Komputasi", which focuses on the challenges of continuously increasing computing capacity and meeting the expectations of the ever-increasing computing world. KNIF 2013 is the third conference held with the theme "Informatics in Indonesia: Potential, Opportunities, and Challenges"By understanding these three conditions, it is hoped that our community will be able to produce appropriate works to address existing problems and achieve future prospects, especially for the people of Indonesia.
