Whose Team from ITB won 1st place in the INVENTION 2018 Web Development competition?
Team Who, whose members are Alvin Junianto Lan (13514105 – Informatics – 2014), Jovian Christianto (13514101 – Informatics – 2014), and M. Al Solskjaer (10215065 – Physics – 2015) succeeded in becoming the first place winner in the Web Development competition INVENTION 2018, which took place last May at the Institute of Peace and Democracy Building in Bukit Jimbaran, Bali. At the event, their team submitted a project titled "Inpoint," which earned nearly a full score of 97.5 out of 100.
The Informatic Festival and Competition, or INVENTION for short, is a national-level competition presented by the Computer Science Student Association of Udayana University. The competition is aimed at all university students and students at the SMA/SMK level throughout Indonesia. It is hoped that this activity will broaden the knowledge and enhance the creativity of the nation's children in working in the technology field.
Web Development is one of the national level competitions in the INVENTION 2018 event organized by the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University. This competition challenges university students throughout Indonesia to create web-based applications. Participants are challenged to explore creative and innovative ideas by utilizing information technology to solve problems that occur in Indonesia within the following scopes:
a. Socio-Cultural and Community
Web-based products that can help the community in socio-cultural matters so that they can be distributed to the government, related agencies and other related parties.
b. Education
Web-based products that can help in education so that they can improve the quality and standard of education in Indonesia.
c. Services and Governance
Web-based products that can assist in public and government services, thereby facilitating the performance of public servants/government/related agencies in their service processes.
d. Financial Technology
A web-based product that can help with financial technology (FinTech) which is expected to benefit the people and economy in Indonesia.
The competition was open to students from all regions in Indonesia. After ten finalists were selected, they presented their projects at the INVENTION 2018 summit in Jimbaran, Bali. Winners received cash prizes and a field trip to Bali.
