Texas Instruments Workshop at STEI – ITB

The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics – Bandung Institute of Technology (STEI – ITB) in collaboration with Texas Instruments (TI) held 16-bit microcontroller training using the MSP430 microcontroller and also 32-bit microcontrollers using the Stellaris ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller.

This training is open to the public and lasts for two days, on 20-21 September 2011. In this training, the speakers were brought directly from Texas Instruments Singapore, including Jimmy Kuah and Ng Poh Leong as speakers for the MSP430 training, while the speakers for the Stellais training were Eddie Koh and Dunman Teo.

To participate in the 16-bit MSP430 microcontroller training, participants are free of charge, with the requirement to have the MSP430G2 Launchpad Value Line Development Kit MSP-EXP430G2 (Texas Instruments-Launchpad), because it will be used directly during the training. For the 32-bit microcontroller training, training participants use the Stellaris LM3S8962 Ethernet+CAN Evaluation Kit provided by the organizer.

Texas Instruments' 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers address energy efficiency and affordability. Furthermore, Texas Instruments provides the CCS 4 IDE, which can create and compile program code, as well as simulate it.
