STEI ITB Successfully Holds 19th Anniversary Celebration with a Series of Scientific Events, Competitions, and Togetherness
BANDUNG, stei.itb.ac.id – 19th Anniversary of the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) ITB has been successfully held, presenting various activities that reflect spirit of innovation, academics, and togetherness. The celebration took place from January 31 to February 22, 2025 This is not only a reflection of STEI ITB's 19-year journey, but also a momentum to strengthen collaboration between academics, industry, and the community.
A series of activities that have taken place include sports and creativity competitions, national seminars, public lectures, research exhibitions, and a lively peak event.
As an opening to the Dies Natalis celebration, Kompetisi Badminton sukses digelar mulai February 11 to 25, 2025, bringing together athletes from various faculties at ITB. The tournament was conducted with great sportsmanship and produced the following champions:

🥈 Runner up: FTMD ITB
🥉 3rd Place: SITH ITB
🏅 4th place: S2EL STEI ITB
On the other hand, Kompetisi TikTok . "I'm Ready to Become a STEI ITB Student", which is open to high school students and equivalent from January 31 to February 10, 2025, successfully attracted enthusiastic participants from various regions across Indonesia. After a rigorous selection process, the following are the winners:
🏆 Champion number 1: Arfandika Syahputra – SMAN 1 Tanjungpinang, Kepulauan Riau
🥈 Runner up: Eritha Bella Chelsyana – SMA Negeri 70 Jakarta Selatan
🥉 3rd Place: Muhammad Iqbal – MAN Insan Cendikia Tanah Laut, Kalimantan Selatan
This competition is not only a platform to showcase creativity and sportsmanship, but also a way for STEI ITB to get closer to the younger generation who aspire to study in the fields of engineering and informatics.
Entering the main agenda of Dies Natalis, STEI Quantum Day Public Lecture which was held on 20 Februari 2025 . Auditorium CC Timur ITB became the opening of scientific discussions in this celebration.
In order to International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQST) 2025, STEI ITB presents two international experts which discusses the latest developments in quantum technology:
📌 Prof. Rodney Van Meter (Keio University, Japan) – “Networks for Modular Quantum System”.
📌 Prof. Anupam Mazumdar (University of Groningen, Netherlands) – “Challenges for Creating Macroscopic Schrodinger Cat States”.
This lecture attracted the attention of students, lecturers, and researchers in the fields of telecommunications and quantum physics, who also discussed the potential application of quantum technology in the world of industry and modern communications.
On 21 Februari 2025, STEI ITB menggelar National Seminar with the theme "AI and Industry for National Independence and Progress" . Aula Barat ITB. This seminar was attended by Dean of STEI ITB, Dr. Juhana asked, and officially opened by Rektor ITB, Prof. Tatacipta Dirgantara.
Dua keynote speaker utama, Dr. Ali Murtopo Simbolon (Deputy for Coordination of Commerce and Digital Economy, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs) and Dr. Ismail (Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital), delivered insights on AI developments in industry and strategic policies to support technological independence in Indonesia.
The panel discussion that took place at this seminar highlighted various aspects of the industry, starting from defense, health, energy, and semiconductors. Along with the seminar, Lapangan CC Timur ITB become a location Pameran Riset STEI ITB, which displays research results from various Expertise Groups (KK) and study programs at STEI ITB.
As a closing of the Dies Natalis series, peak event on February 22, 2025 took place with great enthusiasm and togetherness. The activity began with Fun Run, which was attended by the academic community of STEI ITB, followed by Zumba, which further increases the energy of the participants.
The event then reached its peak with pemotongan tumpeng, which symbolizes STEI ITB's long journey in building excellence in engineering and informatics. Furthermore, the entertainment stage also enlivened the atmosphere, featuring band of lecturers, educational staff, and students of STEI ITB.
As a form of appreciation for participation in this celebration, various doorprize menarik distributed to participants, creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness among the entire STEI ITB community.
