STEI ITB Selenggarakan Data and Software Engineering Days
The rapid development of information technology cannot be separated from significant progress in the field of software engineering (software engineering) and data engineering (data engineering) in the last half century. It is from this perspective that the Software and Data Engineering Expertise Group (KK) of the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) ITB held the activity Data and Software Engineering (DSE) Days which took place over two days, Thursday-Friday (10-11/09/15) at Labtek V and VI, ITB Ganesha Campus. The activity carried the theme ""Data and Software Engineering: Education, Research, and Industry” It aims to share knowledge and raise awareness about software and data in education, economics, and industry because the application of software and data is vital in these fields.
In line with the objectives of DSE DaysThis event was attended by participants consisting of university academics, industry, software and data practitioners, and government. DSE Days includes four main agenda items, namely Tutorial on Software Engineering in DevOps Context, Seminars andworkshops, Software Engineering Education, Seminars and workshops, Data Engineering, and Tutorial on Data Analytics and Visualization.

This paper discusses issues that frequently arise in the implementation of software engineering education and data applications in industry and business. These issues essentially arise from differing teaching parameters used by Indonesian universities in delivering software and data-related materials. Therefore, a common understanding is deemed necessary to avoid misunderstandings.

The software development tutorial is specifically designed for the realization of DevOps And start-up Internet-based. Meanwhile, data management tutorials focus on practicing skills in utilizing tools for data analysis and visualization. The tutorial sessions provide practical training for participants, as software and data engineering emphasizes hands-on practice over mere theory.
Admitted by Dr. Fazat Nur Azizah ST, MT as the event chair, the core of the series of activities DSE Days is the equalization of perception in the delivery of material in the educational process in the field of software and data engineering. "The equalization of perception from the instructor in the delivery of this material is so that the knowledge gained by students is equal," said Dr. Fazat. Furthermore, in the future it is hoped that software and data engineering graduates produced by universities in Indonesia will be mature, reliable, and professionally qualified engineers according to the needs of industry both domestically and globally.
