STEI ITB Welcomes the Visiting Delegation of the University of Groningen with a Double Degree Collaboration Plan and Guest Lecture Session

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id - The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) received an important visit from a delegation from the University of Groningen., The Netherlands on Thursday, August 15, 2024. The visit aimed to discuss opportunities for deeper academic cooperation between the two institutions, including plans for a double degree program and international PhD collaboration.

The delegation was led by two renowned academics, Prof. Bayu Jayawardhana, a Professor in the field of Mechatronics and Control of Nonlinear Systems, as well as Prof. Michele Cucuzzella from Faculty of Science and Engineering. They were welcomed directly by the Dean of STEI ITB, ., along with Dr. Techn. Saiful Akbar, as well as the Heads of Study Programs (Kaprodi) within STEI ITB.

One of the main topics discussed in this general meeting was the follow-up to the program plan. . for the MSc Computing Science, which is planned to be attended online by the director of the MSc Computing Science from the University of Groningen. They will also discuss the PhD landscape in Groningen and how the two institutions can collaborate on projects. . Upcoming PhD.

After the meeting, Prof. Michele Cucuzzella gave a session Guest Lecture which took place in the Smart Classroom Labtek VIII, 4th Floor. This session was attended by STEI academic colleagues and postgraduate students, and discussed Prof. Michele's expertise and related fields in engineering and science.

The final agenda of the visit was an individual session and interview for Prof. Bayu and Prof. Michele with STEI graduate students interested in PhD collaboration and exchange with the University of Groningen during their PhD pathway. This session took place in the Faculty Lounge and was a valuable opportunity for the doctoral candidates to receive direct input and guidance from the two professors.

This visit marks a significant first step in strengthening academic cooperation between STEI ITB and the University of Groningen, which is expected to open up new opportunities in education and research in the future.
