STEI ITB attended the JST Sakura Science Program (SSP) event

BANDUNG, stei.itb.ac.id – January 23, 2023, STEI ITB was also invited by the Human-AI Communication, Co-Learning, and Collaborative Intelligence (HA3CI) Research Laboratory at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (JAIST), for collaborative research activities on the development of artificial intelligence in spoken language processing that supports human-to-human or human-to-machine communication (Exchange program: January 5-25, 2023; Online program: January 26-March 15, 2023), to participate in the activities JST Sakura Science Program (SSP) which invites talented young foreign human resources from all over the world for short-term visits to Japan, giving them the opportunity to experience Japan's cutting-edge science and technology, and its culture.

In order to fulfill the invitation, STEI ITB sent 2 lecturers and 10 students who were accompanied directly by Dr. Tutun Juhana, S.T.,M.T. as the dean of STEI ITB. The lecturer responsible for supervising the students is Dessi Puji Lestari, S.T, M.Eng., Ph.D And Dr. Eng. Ayu Purwarianti, S.T, M.T. . Informatics Research Group

STEI ITB joined the event together with the Faculty of Computer Science (UI) to form a science center – a fully collaborative research between researchers and academics of the Japan Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (JAIST, Japan) and Indonesia.

The event was held online with a total of 32 participants. The event began with remarks from executives and representatives from JAIST and the Indonesian side. Then, in the second session, presentations were given by researchers/academics from JAIST, UI, and STEI ITB to introduce their research and technology experiences in developing AI for human-machine communication. After that, in the third session, the 3 Universities had an intensive discussion about the JAIST-UI-ITB Science Hub Research Collaboration and closed with presentations on ongoing research by students or young researchers from JAIST, UI, and ITB. This UI and ITB student research presentation is the result of the initial collaboration between JAIST-UI-ITB through the JST Sakura Science exchange program where ten UI and ITB students conducted research work at Sakti-Lab (Human-AI Communication, Co-Learning, & Collaborative Intelligence Research Laboratories) during January 5-25, 2023.
