40 Years of Informatics

BANDUNG, stei.itb.ac.id- STEI Informatics, Thursday (February 2, 2023), held a celebration event for forty years (40thits formation was held in the West Hall of ITB. The celebration was filled with activities National Seminar on Higher Informatics Education and closed with Gala Dinner.

The event started at 08.40 WIB, starting with singing the song Indonesia Raya and reciting a prayer together, then continued with remarks from Dr. Ir. Gusti Ayu Putri Saptawati Soekidjo, M.Comm. as Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Tutun Juhana, S.T.,M.T., Dean of STEI and Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., Rector of ITB. The National Informatics Higher Education Workshop was divided into three sessions with different themes and speakers, including:

Session 1: Future Directions of Computing Education, with speakers:

  • Dr. techn. Saiful Akbar, S.T, M.T. – Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, STEI ITB
  • ZK Abdurahman Baizal, S.Si., M.kom - Dean of the Faculty of Informatics, Telkom University
  • Arnaldo Marulitua Sinaga, S.T., M.InfoTech. – Rektor, Institut Teknologi DEL

Session 2: Graduate Competency Gap from an Industrial Perspective, with speakers:

  • Ibrahim Arief – Chief Technology Officer, GovTech Edu
  • Oon Arfiandwi – Chief Learning Officer, Dicoding Indonesia
  • rer. nat. I Made Wiryana, S.Si, S.Kom, M.Sc – Universitas Gunadarma

Session 3: Research & Advances in Computing, with speakers:

  • Andry Alamsyah, S.Si, M.Sc. – Universitas Telkom
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sakriani Sakti, S.T., M.Sc. – Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST)

Gala Dinner
An equally important event, concluding the day's celebrations, was the Gala Dinner, which brought together seniors and alumni of Informatics Engineering. The event began at 7:00 PM WIB, with dinner, followed by a discussion on Informatics, moderated by Wikan Danar Sunindyo which succeeded in making the atmosphere of that night full of pride and emotion.

The evening's event closed with a group photo and a performance from Pikiraneun Band, who also attended the Gala Dinner that evening to enliven and entertain the Informatics elders and alumni.
