SEEI ITB and CIC ZJU Officially Establish International Collaboration in Integrated Circuit Technology

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – On 19 November 2024, the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Bandung Institute of Technology (SEEI ITB) officially established an international collaboration with the College of Integrated Circuits of Zhejiang University (CIC ZJU), China, through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) conducted online via the Zoom platform. The MoA was signed by the Dean of SEEI ITB, Dr. Ir. Tutun Juhana, S.T., M.T., and the Vice Dean for International Affairs of CIC ZJU, Prof. Zhang Rui.

The event was also attended in person by several representatives from CIC ZJU and SEEI ITB at the STEI Vango meeting room in Bandung. From CIC ZJU, the attendees included Cui Guoyu as CEO, Julee Zhang as Overseas General Manager, and Kevin Xuan as Southeast Regional Manager. Meanwhile, from SEEI ITB, attendees included Dr. Widyawardana Adiprawita, S.T., M.T. (Vice Dean for Resources), Dr. Ir. Nanang Hariyanto, M.T. (Head of the Electric Power Systems and Network Dynamics Laboratory), and Astri Maria, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (SEEI ITB lecturer).

This collaboration aims to promote joint research and development in technology, particularly in integrated circuit technology and communication solutions for the global energy industry. Both parties agreed to promote academic exchange activities, including joint supervision of postgraduate students, scientific publications, and faculty exchange programs.

Within the scope of this collaboration, SEEI ITB will develop several key components for smart grid applications, such as chip design for smart grids, edge computing units (ECUs) for power asset management, and the development of communication systems to support smart grids. On the other hand, CIC ZJU will share expertise in high-technology integrated circuit chip design and manufacturing, as well as experience in developing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) technology. .. ., . . ..

The MoA will be valid for three years and is expected to generate various innovative initiatives in the future. Through this collaboration, both SEEI ITB and CIC ZJU are optimistic about making more significant contributions to the development of technologies that support global digital transformation.
