Semiloka Smart City, Denpasar Hadirkan Guru Besar ITB

Seminar-Smart-City-2The seriousness of Denpasar Mayor IB Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra and Deputy Mayor I GN Jaya Negara in realizing Denpasar Smart City is proven by the program's integrity steps with the community and the legislature. Of course, this discussion was carried out by implementing a Denpasar Smart City Workshop Based on Local Wisdom by presenting the Chairman of the Indonesian Smart City Forum who is also a Professor at the Bandung Institute of Technology Prof. Suhono Harso Supangkat and involving Dr. Tri Widodo Wahyu Utomo from the State Administration Institute which will last for three days from August 12-14 at the Bali Handara Resort, Pancasari Village, Sukasada, Buleleng. The workshop was officially opened by Mayor IB Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra which was also attended by the Regional Secretary of Denpasar City A.AN Rai Iswara, Chairman of the Denpasar City DPRD I Gusti Ngurah Gede and members of the Denpasar City DPRD.

Prof. Suhono Harso Supangkat said that the Mayor of Denpasar and regional officials supported by the community have responded quickly in the smart city by implementing a public reporting system through the Denpasar Plus Online People's Complaints (Pro) from infrastructure, environmental issues to public service issues that have been discussed together. "From this Pro Denpasar program, the Mayor can monitor via Android devices involving regional officials down to the hamlet heads, village heads and sub-districts with evaluations of issues that can be evaluated daily, weekly and monthly without having to hold meetings for joint discussions," he said. Smart City issues are related to the management of natural resources, human resources and mindset changes. So Smart City is not a matter of the city plus technology but how the city knows the problems in it (sensing), understands the conditions of these problems (understanding), and can organize (acting) sharing existing resources to be used effectively and efficiently with the aim of maximizing services to its citizens. So this workshop is the right step for Mayor Rai Mantra who also involved the Denpasar City DPRD so that together they can accelerate the program to realize a smart city. This aligns with the Smart City Indonesia concept of smart homes, smart people, smart villages, smart sub-districts, smart regencies/cities, and smart Indonesia. "A smart city isn't just about utilizing large monitors with information technology supported by numerous CCTVs that aren't properly utilized. For example, using CCTV to monitor traffic flow while still experiencing congestion isn't a proper smart city if it doesn't intelligently address urban problems," he said.

Mayor Ra Mantra stated that Denpasar's complexity, with a Human Development Index of 82.24, is a consequence of social development issues, which contribute to the development of solutions. This requires holistic city problem-solving by eliminating sectoral egos through the use of technology to accelerate public services.
