About the Study Program
The Master of Artificial Intelligence program is designed to produce graduates with advanced analytical skills, the ability to develop knowledge through research, and high professionalism in the field of AI. The AI scientific fields in this program cover four main categories: essential, core, general, and applied knowledge areas. In essential knowledge, students are equipped with the mathematical foundations for AI and machine learning as well as programming skills. Core knowledge covers key competencies such as machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, generative AI, speech processing, robotics, and human-computer interaction. General knowledge provides a basic understanding of AI and data science as the foundation for data analysis. Meanwhile, applied knowledge emphasizes the practical application of AI, including ethics, various industry sectors, and AI DevOps.
General Description & Curriculum
The Master of Artificial Intelligence study program aims to produce Master of Artificial Intelligence graduates with the profile of Engineers, Managers, Consultants, or Researchers in the field of Artificial Intelligence who have the following capabilities at the beginning of their career (3-5 years after graduation):
- Graduates will have critical, adaptive, innovative, and professional thinking aspects, so they can have a career in the profession in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
- Our graduates will successfully pursue advanced study or engage in professional development.
- Graduates will have the ability to manage research in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

Curriculum Structure
The general structure of the Artificial Intelligence Master's Program curriculum is shown in the following table for both the Study with Research Thesis and Study with Project Thesis pathways. The curriculum is designed in 3 semesters for a load of 45 credits, consisting of ITB compulsory courses (3 credits) and study program compulsory courses (24 credits), 12 credits of thesis, and 6 credits of elective courses. The Research Thesis is carried out through research activities reported in the form of a Master's Thesis. For the Project Thesis, activities are in the form of project or product development as real world use casesso it will be guided by partners from industry. The project thesis can be done in groups by 2-3 students. The output is an AI product or prototype. If the Research Thesis must be published in a national or international journal or proceedings, the Project Thesis can also be published in a national or international journal or proceedings, or in the form of an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Application Document.

Registration and Selection of New Students
Untuk dapat mengikuti Program Studi Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial dengan baik, mahasiswa perlu memiliki latar belakang pendidikan setara sarjana dalam bidang Artificial Intelligence. Mahasiswa dengan latar belakang pendidikan tidak sebidang dengan prestasi baik juga dapat diterima, asalkan memenuhi syarat Sekolah Pascasarjana (SPs), berlatar belakang pendidikan Sains atau Teknik, dan wajib lulus ujian tulis khusus kompetensi dasar keilmuan AI. Persyaratan calon mahasiswa mengacu pada Peraturan Rektor ITB No. 587/IT1.A/PER/2022 tentang Persyaratan Masuk Program Magister dan Doktor di ITB.
Prospective students for the regular scheme program will take part in document selection and written exams as follows:
- Selection based on documents:
- Nilai IP, TPA, dan TOEFL mengikuti peraturan ITB yang berlaku.
- Educational background in Science and Engineering (S1 diploma).
- Rekomendasi dari 2 (dua) orang, yaitu dosen atau atasan.
- Ujian tulis khusus kompetensi dasar keilmuan AI, meliputi pemrograman, matematika untuk AI dan ML, basis data, serta sistem komputer.
Tata Tertib dan Cakupan Topik Tes Seleksi S2 AI
Peserta ujian tulis wajib memperhatikan tata tertib ujian, jadwal pelaksanaan, sifat ujian, serta cakupan topik tes seleksi Program Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial ITB.
Tata Tertib Ujian
- Peserta wajib mengetahui ruang ujian sesuai undangan yang disampaikan melalui email.
- Peserta memakai pakaian sopan dan bersepatu.
- Peserta membawa tanda bukti diri asli, alat tulis, dan kalkulator.
- Barang selain perlengkapan ujian diletakkan di tempat yang ditentukan.
- Alat komunikasi wajib dimatikan dan makanan tidak diperbolehkan dibawa ke ruang ujian.
- Peserta tidak diperbolehkan menggunakan catatan, berbicara, saling meminjam alat tulis, atau melakukan kecurangan.
- Pelanggaran tata tertib dapat mengakibatkan berkas jawaban peserta tidak dinilai.

Jadwal ujian seleksi Semester I Tahun Akademik 2026/2027 direncanakan pada Kamis, 9 Juli 2026, pukul 12.45-16.00 WIB di Labtek V (Gedung Benny Subianto) Lantai 2, Jalan Ganesha No. 10, Bandung. Ruangan mengikuti informasi pada undangan.

Mahasiswa yang mengikuti Program Penyatuan Sarjana Magister (PPSM) serumpun harus mengambil mata kuliah program Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial 15-24 sks saat masih di jenjang Sarjana agar dapat menyelesaikan skema program integrasi sarjana-magister dalam waktu 10 semester. Mahasiswa yang mengikuti PPSM lintas rumpun harus memenuhi kompetensi dasar keilmuan AI yang dibutuhkan untuk mengikuti perkuliahan Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial, yaitu: pemrograman, matematika, dan basis data serta sistem komputer. Seperti mahasiswa yang mengikuti PPSM serumpun, mahasiswa PPSM lintas rumpun juga harus mengambil mata kuliah program Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial 15-24 sks saat masih di jenjang Sarjana agar dapat menyelesaikan skema program integrasi sarjana-magister dalam waktu 10 semester. Persyaratan lainnya mengikuti peraturan ITB yang berlaku.
Prodi Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial untuk pendaftaran tahun akademik 2026/2027 hanya dibuka untuk pendaftaran semester ganjil. Untuk pembukaan tahun akademik 2026/2027, informasi pendaftaran dapat diakses mulai bulan Mei 2026. Based on Background
- Linear → Already have the basics of AI → can continue straight away
- Semi-linear → Some AI basics → need some additional courses
- Non-linear → Don't have an AI background yet → need to be equipped first
Program Options
- Sarjana → Magister
- Continue to S2 after graduating from S1 with an integrated curriculum
- Duration: ± 6–7 years total
- Program Integrasi atau Penyatuan Sarjana Magister (PPSM)
- Kuliah S1 dan S2 sekaligus (fast-track)
- Durasi: 4 + 1 tahun
- Bisa ambil mata kuliah S2 sejak S1
- Berikut ini adalah tahapan rincinya:
- Mahasiswa mendaftar program integrasi; pendaftaran dapat dilakukan mulai semester lima hingga selambat-lambatnya di akhir semester enam.
- Mahasiswa membuat course planning; course planning menggambarkan rencana pengambilan mata kuliah di setiap semester, mulai dari semester tiga hingga semester 10, sehingga program S1 dan S2 dapat diselesaikan dalam 4 + 1 tahun. Pengambilan mata kuliah pada course planning mencakup: mata kuliah wajib ITB, mata kuliah wajib prodi S1, mata kuliah pilihan prodi S1, mata kuliah pilihan luar prodi S1, mata kuliah wajib Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial, dan mata kuliah pilihan Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial. Mata kuliah wajib ITB diprioritaskan untuk diambil mulai semester 3. Apabila mahasiswa ingin mengikuti program MBKM, maka pengambilan mata kuliah pilihan dapat disesuaikan.
- Untuk mahasiswa yang masuk kategori linier dan semi-linier, 12–24 sks mata kuliah prodi Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial dapat diambil sejak semester lima hingga semester delapan. Batasan jumlah sks ini dapat disesuaikan dengan aturan yang berlaku di ITB. Khusus untuk mahasiswa yang masuk kategori semi-linier, mata kuliah prodi Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial yang dapat diambil adalah mata kuliah yang sesuai dengan kompetensi dasar Artificial Intelligence yang sudah dimiliki. Untuk melengkapi kompetensi dasar Artificial Intelligence yang belum dimiliki, mahasiswa kategori semi-linier harus mengikuti mata kuliah penyelarasan.
- Untuk mahasiswa yang masuk kategori tidak linier, pembekalan untuk memperoleh kompetensi dasar Artificial Intelligence dapat diambil sejak semester lima, sehingga apabila memungkinkan, 12–24 sks mata kuliah Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial dapat mulai diambil sejak semester 7 (tujuh). Kasus khusus (misalnya baru mendaftar di semester enam) dapat menyebabkan mahasiswa tidak bisa mengambil mata kuliah Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial sebelum lulus S1, sehingga program integrasi S1 dan Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial diselesaikan dalam waktu lebih dari 4+1 tahun. Seperti skema umum Sarjana-Magister lintas-rumpun dengan tujuan Prodi Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial, peserta PISM tidak linier perlu mengambil mata kuliah penyelarasan untuk memenuhi kompetensi dasar Computing.
- Untuk mahasiswa semi-linier dan tidak linier, terdapat beberapa alternatif pembekalan, yaitu mengikuti pembekalan di masa semester pendek, mengambil mata kuliah pilihan luar prodi Program Sarjana berupa mata kuliah Teknik Informatika atau Sistem & Teknologi Informasi yang terkait dengan kompetensi dasar Artificial Intelligence, atau mengikuti tes kompetensi dasar.
- Tugas Akhir prodi S1 mulai dilaksanakan sejak semester tujuh. Mahasiswa yang masuk kategori linier wajib melaksanakan TA-Tesis berkelanjutan. Mahasiswa yang masuk kategori semi-linier dan tidak linier disarankan melaksanakan TA-Tesis berkelanjutan.
- Pada pertengahan semester delapan, akan dilakukan review prestasi akademik untuk memastikan bahwa mahasiswa peserta program integrasi dapat lulus tepat waktu dari prodi S1 (delapan semester) dan dapat menyelesaikan prodi Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial di akhir tahun ke-5. Jika diestimasi dapat lulus tepat waktu, maka mahasiswa dapat melanjutkan ke prodi Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial tanpa harus mengikuti ujian seleksi masuk, TOEFL, maupun TPA. Jika tidak bisa lulus tepat waktu, mahasiswa diarahkan untuk mengikuti program dengan skema reguler Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial.
- Untuk mahasiswa yang melanjutkan program integrasi, mata kuliah Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial yang belum diambil dapat diselesaikan dalam waktu dua semester, sehingga mahasiswa dapat lulus S1 dan Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial dalam waktu 4 + 1 tahun.
- Magister → Doktor (PPMD)
- Percepatan dari S2 ke S3
- Durasi: ± 4 tahun
- Bisa ambil mata kuliah doktor sejak S2
Skema Penyatuan Program Magister-Doktor (PPMD) ini disediakan oleh prodi Doktor untuk mendukung percepatan waktu tempuh studi total pemelajar dari jenjang Magister hingga Doktor menjadi 8 semester. Hal ini dilakukan dengan cara pengambilan sebagian mata kuliah Doktor sewaktu menempuh program Magister sebanyak 6 hingga 18 sks, dengan memanfaatkan porsi mata kuliah wajib dan mata kuliah pilihan. Prodi Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial ITB bekerja sama dengan prodi Doktor Teknik Elektro dan Informatika untuk pelaksanaan PPMD serumpun. Semua persyaratan skema ini mengikuti rancangan dari prodi Doktor.

Master of Artificial Intelligence Program – STEI ITB
The Master of Artificial Intelligence Study Program, School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), in collaboration with IAIF and Init 6 Ventures, is opening a scholarship program for prospective ITB AI Masters students.
This scholarship program aims to support the development of Indonesian AI talent with a strong interest in research, AI solution development, and AI applications in industry.
Scholarship Coverage
Scholarship recipients will receive:
- Full tuition fee (UKT) scholarship for 3 semesters for regular students.
- Full tuition fee (UKT) scholarship for 2 semesters for ITB fast track students.
In addition to educational cost support, scholarship recipients also have the opportunity to:
- Interact with AI startups and industry within the IAIF ecosystem.
- Involved in AI research activities within the ITB environment.
- Contribute to the development of AI solutions.
- Produce scientific publications and/or innovative AI-based products.

- Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25.

Scholarship registration does not require students to be registered as students in the STEI ITB Artificial Intelligence Master's Program. - Sasana Budaya Ganesha (Sabuga) is the largest parking area for four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles. Access to this parking area is from Jalan Taman Sari or Jalan Siliwangi.
- Parkir Timur (SR) provides limited parking for four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles. This parking area is open 24/7, except on major holidays.
- Parkir Barat (Civil) is specifically for two-wheeled vehicle users.
