Strengthening the Culture of Innovation, STEI ITB Will Host the 2026 Intellectual Property Roadshow
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id — The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) hosted an Intellectual Property Roadshow, organized by the ITB Directorate of Science and Technology Areas. The event, held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, was aimed at lecturers and educational staff within STEI ITB.
This roadshow aims to provide an understanding of Intellectual Property (IP) and to disseminate its policies and management mechanisms within ITB. The event featured speakers from the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) or related parties, as well as representatives from the ITB DKST.
In this activity, participants received an explanation of the basic concepts of Intellectual Property, the types of protection available, and the importance of IP registration as a form of legal protection for research results and innovative works.
In addition, the Rector's Decree on Intellectual Property applicable at ITB was also disseminated. Representatives from the ITB DKST also explained the technical procedures for registration through the Intellectual Property Management Information System (SIMIK), including the flow and mechanisms that the academic community needs to understand.
The two-hour event included presentations and a question-and-answer session. The roadshow is expected to enhance STEI ITB's understanding of the intellectual property protection and management processes in accordance with ITB regulations.
