Welcoming New Students for the 2021/2022 Academic Year
The 2021/2022 academic year will soon begin, New Student Admissions (PMB) is one of the agendas for all universities in Indonesia including the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Bandung Institute of Technology.
STEI ITB held its New Student Admissions (PMB) on August 16, 2021, at 1:00 PM. The event was attended by the entire STEI ITB academic community, including the Dean's Office, Heads of Study Programs, lecturers, and student representatives from each undergraduate department. Participants included new students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs.
The event opened with a video screening of STEI ITB's profile, followed by remarks from Dr. Tutun Juhana, ST., MT. The remarks began with congratulations to the new students for becoming ITB students and to their parents for successfully guiding their children to become STEI ITB students.
"Hopefully, we can meet again on campus, both offline and at the ITB campus, which we are proud of. We will always strive to provide the best for you, no matter the circumstances," said Dr. Tutun Juhana in her remarks.
The event continued with a more in-depth introduction to STEI ITB by Dr.techn. Saiful Akbar, ST., MT. as the vice dean for academic affairs. In the introduction, information was provided about the STEI ITB deanship, available major programs and their accreditation, scientific groups, laboratories, heads of study programs, heads of sections and subsections, academic administration, and social media of STEI ITB.
After that, they will be shown what things need to be considered in academic activities, especially during online lectures, such as ITB's academic and student regulations, PEO, SO, Source Outcome, lecture topics, and unlimited learning resources. Students will also receive their own Office and Gsuite accounts.
Dr. Saiful Akbar paid special attention or highlighted the 2021 Academic Regulations. Every new student must pay attention to several articles in the regulations, including Article 40 concerning IP, GPA, and NR, Articles 41-44 concerning Completion of Undergraduate Programs, Articles 45-48 concerning Graduation Predicates, and Article 57 concerning Study Deadlines.
For undergraduate students, the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) program is available with the following requirements:
- Providing the opportunity for a maximum of 3 semesters of study outside the study program/campus;
- Types of activities available: internships, village development, independent projects, and so on;
- The reference for implementing MBKM at ITB is regulated by ITB Academic Regulation No. 02/IT1.SA/PER/2020
- TPS/SEO and CPL/Student Outcome of the study program must still be fulfilled
- Participation in the MBKM program requires the approval of the Head of Study Program
Dr. Saiful Akbar also added that ITB offers a variety of character and soft skills education programs, enabling students to develop not only their academic knowledge but also their other potential. Furthermore, parents can observe and monitor their children's development while studying at ITB.
Introduction to Study Program
The event continued with an introduction to each study program at STEI ITB. The introductions covered all undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs, explaining their curriculum, profiles, graduates, history, and various forms of final assignments.

- S1 Teknik Elektro oleh Dr. Muhammad Amin Sulthoni, ST., MT.
- S1 Teknik Informatika oleh Dessi Puji Lestari, ST., M.Eng., Ph.D.
- S1 Teknik Tenaga Listrik oleh Dr. Eng. Arwinda Rizqiawan, ST., MT.
- S1 Teknik Telekomunikasi oleh Dr. Effrina Yanti Hamid, ST, MT.
- Bachelor of Information Systems and Technology by Yudistira Dwi Wardhana Asnar, ST., Ph.d.
- S1 Teknik Biomedis oleh Dr. Agung Wahyu Setiawan, ST., MT.
- S2 Teknik Elektro oleh Dr. Ir. Mervin Tangguar Hutabarat, ST., MT.
- S2 Informatika oleh Dr. Masayu Leylia Khodra, ST., MT.
- S3 Teknik Elektro dan Informatika oleh Dr. Umar Khayam, ST., MT.
- Program Profesi Insinyur oleh Burhanuddin Halimi, ST., MT., Ph.D.
At the event, students were also present who gave messages and impressions.
The event concluded with a video screening about the ITB Student Parents Association (IOM ITB). IOM is an organization of student parents ready to assist students with any challenges, from financial issues to guidance on college life.
There are also several congratulatory videos and short profiles of the associations at STEI ITB by each association head.
- HME ITB (covers Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Electrical Power Engineering)
- IMT ITB (oversees Telecommunication Engineering)
- HMIF ITB (oversees Informatics Engineering, Information Systems and Technology)
During the event, the entire academic community and parents continued to congratulate the new students.
