Application of Cloud Technology to improve community welfare
More or less as the title above, the essence of the public lecture held by the Information Technology Expertise Group (KK-TI) STEI ITB in collaboration with The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) Indonesia Section. This event took place on March 5, 2012, at the Auditorium Room of the East Campus Center, ITB Campus, with the main speaker being Dr. Yuji Inoue. chairman . Toyota Info Technology Center Co., Ltd. – Japan. The topic raised at this public lecture, which was filled with students, was “ICT for Better Life of People, How to Apply Cloud and Latest Technologies”.
In this public lecture, Dr. Yuji explains how to apply technology cloud In improving the quality of life, this is based on several problems, namely population growth (competition), limited resources, and natural disasters. Therefore, collaboration is needed. tools and new ways, sustainable resource, and disaster management that can be obtained from "digital society". The digital technology studied is cloud computing.
Pembangunan smart society in architecture cloud includes the following:
- Smart grid
- Networked car à 2.0; where every car is connected to cloud produce an intelligent transportation system
- E-government, digitalization of government documentation to cloud
- Rural life application; connecting experts with real environments, including medical cloud, agricultural cloud, fish farm cloud dll.
"The purpose of this activity is actually to introduce cloud technology to the public in order to improve the welfare of the community itself. In this event, it was also shown how several applications in cloud technology, such as robot applications, video processing applications, can be utilized in people's lives," said the chairman of this activity, Dr.Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng., who is also the chairman of IEICE for the Indonesia Section. In addition, through this activity, it is also hoped that IEICE can be introduced as a professional organization with members from academics and industry practitioners in the fields of electronics, information and telecommunications technology, and can improve better cooperation between STEI ITB and IEICE because there are already many STEI academics (lecturers) who have become member from this organization.
