Signing of the Academy Support Center Agreement with Huawei

On Friday, November 12, 2021, a collaboration agreement was signed between the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics and Huawei Enterprise. This collaboration demonstrates a commitment to improving human resources and competitiveness for ITB graduates, through the ITB-Huawei Academy Support Center partnership program, part of the Huawei ICT Academy Program.

The Huawei ICT Academy Program is a broad umbrella organization that oversees efforts to train globally competent digital talent. The Academy Support Center, a collaboration between Huawei and ITB, aims to provide critical technical and operational support for the sustainability of the Huawei ICT Academy Program, not only at ITB but also throughout the country.Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics ITB, ., said he was very pleased to be able to expand ITB's long-standing collaboration with Huawei, which has been realized through the Academy Support Center. Through this collaboration, the entire ITB academic community can gain early access to various digital technologies and technological devices developed by Huawei, as well as the opportunity to conduct research with the global ICT solutions provider.

"We hope that this collaboration with Huawei will enhance the competitiveness of ITB graduates in the future," he said.

Present from STEI ITB were Dr. Tutun Juhana, ST., MT., as Dean of STEI ITB, Dr. Widyawardana Adiprawita, ST.,MT.  selaku Wakil Dekan Bidang Sumberdaya, dan segenap civitas akademika STEI.

Meanwhile, Huawei was attended by Terry Liu (Director of Channel), James Zeng (Director of EBG), and Ir. Rayi Pradono Iswara, M.Sc.

Huawei Indonesia EBG Director James Zeng expressed his appreciation for ITB's commitment to developing digital talent in Indonesia, which can be achieved through collaboration with Huawei.

"For the past eight years, ITB has been a highly valued strategic partner of Huawei. Seeing ITB's extraordinary achievements, enthusiasm, and contributions, we want to take our collaboration with Huawei to the next level. By becoming part of our Academy Support Center, ITB will play an even greater role in supporting the success of the Huawei ICT Academy Program in developing Indonesia's digital talent," said Zeng.

Zeng emphasized the importance of cross-stakeholder collaboration, including between higher education and industry players. The collaboration between ITB and Huawei is also expected to help accelerate government programs such as the Merdeka Campus program by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, and the Higher Education and Digital Talent Scholarship-Fresh Graduate Academy by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics.

To date, ITB has trained nearly 200 students annually with Huawei Indonesia, with a total of approximately 600 students trained between 2018 and 2021. ITB and Huawei Indonesia began their partnership in higher education in 2013.
