Supporting Dozens of Employees from a Thesis

Informatics is a very dynamic and rapidly developing field of study. After 30 years of existence, the Informatics Engineering Study Program at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has produced thousands of informatics practitioners who have significantly participated in the information technology industry in Indonesia. ITB Informatics Engineering alumni are currently spread across various important positions throughout Indonesia and the world. Starting in November 2012, the ITB Informatics Engineering Study Program will implement a regular program, Informatics Teaching, which will invite practitioners who are successful ITB Informatics Engineering graduates in the field. They are invited to share their knowledge and experience. This Informatics Teaching Program is open to the general public who are interested in understanding how informatics plays a role in industry.

The first Informatics Teaching Program will be held on November 2, 2012 starting at 14:00 at Labtek VI ITB Campus. The activity which carries the theme of Informatics for National Independence presents two main speakers who are alumni of ITB Informatics Engineering, namely the President Director of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental and the President Director of No Limit Indonesia. The President Director of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental, Ahmad Bambang will share his experiences regarding the development and opportunities of the ICT Industry and its utilization for the benefit of the nation and state. The President Director of No Limit Indonesia, Aqsath Rasyid Naradhipa will share his experiences on how his thesis can become a startup that currently has dozens of employees.

This public lecture will be hosted by Narenda Wicaksono, an alumnus of Informatics Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology who currently serves as Nokia's Developer Experience Lead for Southeast Asia. The Informatics Teaching Program is part of a series of events to commemorate 30 Years of Informatics Education in Indonesia, which will also invite thousands of ITB Informatics Engineering alumni to the First Congress of the ITB Informatics Alumni Association (IA-IF ITB) which will be held on November 3, 2012, at the Selasar Labtek V, Bandung Institute of Technology. The Informatics Teaching Program is expected to reduce the technological gap and inspire the general public about how informatics can play a role in national independence.
