Building a Creative Generation in West Java through the Game Development Jabar 2025 Talkshow

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI) ITB actively participated in organizing the Game Development Jabar 2025 Talkshow, an initiative aimed at introducing the world of game development to senior high school, vocational high school, and Islamic senior high school students across West Java. The event was held online on October 1, 2025, via the Zoom platform, enabling participants from various regions in West Java to take part without geographical limitations.

This activity was the result of collaboration between the West Java Provincial Government, ITB’s Directorate of Community Service and Expertise Services (DPMLK), the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI) ITB, the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) ITB, PT Agate Internasional, Bebras Indonesia, and various senior high schools, vocational high schools, and Islamic senior high schools in West Java. This cross-institutional synergy represents a concrete step in building a creative and educational ecosystem in the field of game development at the regional level. . di tingkat daerah.

The main objective of this activity was to provide students with opportunities to become familiar with and learn programming and digital art through the medium of game development. Through a series of structured talkshows and project-based workshops, participants were expected to produce simple game prototypes as the final outcome of their learning process. In addition, the activity also provided relevant materials for teachers regarding positive game literacy and computational thinking, enabling them to act as mentors and facilitators in developing students’ interests in the future. .. . .

Beyond technical training, this activity also focused on character building and the development of participants’ soft skills. Through collaborative and creative activities, students were encouraged to build self-confidence, dare to dream beyond limits, and develop cross-disciplinary collaboration in the game design process. . .

Through this activity, SEEI ITB hopes that new seeds of young talent in West Java will emerge, mastering computational technology and digital art. This young generation is expected to contribute to driving the sustainable growth of the creative game industry, while also strengthening West Java’s position as one of Indonesia’s centers for creative talent development.
