STEI Students Win First Place in Cybersecurity Competition
Bagas Purwa (18116018), student majoring in Telecomm Engineering 2016, won 1st place in the Indonesian Cyber Security and Network Competition (KJKSI 2019) in the CyberSecurity field.
This competition was held by the Cisco Networking Academy, in conjunction with the major Cisco Indonesia Networking Academy Conference, held at UMM Malang on October 17-18. The Cisco Indonesia Networking Academy Conference itself is an annual meeting organized by the Cisco Networking Academy (CNA) to facilitate meetings between CNA instructors throughout Indonesia.
The competition featured two categories: networking and cybersecurity. The preliminary round began on October 9th, and 20 students from each category advanced to the final round. Bagas Purwa emerged victorious and represented ITB in the event.
The final round held at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang resulted in the champion in the CyberSecurity/network security field being won by Bagas Purwa from ITB, followed by UGM in second place and Parahyangan Catholic University in third place.
Network security challenges are a critical issue that will continue to grow, especially with technological advances leading to the Internet of Things. Cybersecurity knowledge and skills are essential to addressing these challenges. Therefore, the Cisco Indonesia Networking Academy Conference is held as a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas on the latest issues in information security.
This event raised global issues about Industry 4.0 and the changing paradigm of education in the Industry 4.0 era, so that educational institutions in Indonesia must prepare themselves for the Education 4.0 era.
