STEI ITB Students Win Grand Prize at AdventureX 2026 in China
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id — Jason Edward Salim, an Informatics student at STEI ITB (Class of 2024), won the 1st Place Grand Prize at the Dimensional Hackathon during the AdventureX 2026 event. Organized by AdventureX, the competition took place from July 22 to 26, 2026, in Hangzhou, China.
In this competition, Jason and his team chose the "Dimensional" category, which focuses on the development of artificial intelligence and robotics technologies. The team began with a one-day brainstorming session before proceeding to develop the project over four days and presenting the results during the Demo Day session.
The team then developed **NightWatch**, an autonomous robot dog utilizing the Unitree Go2 and DimensionalOS. The robot is designed to detect signs of fatigue, autonomously map its environment, and offer an interactive experience for its users.
In addition to participating in the competition, the participants also had the opportunity to visit a technology exhibition and attend workshops hosted by various technology companies. These activities provided insights into technological developments in China, as well as the available resources to support the implementation of projects based on artificial intelligence and robotics.
NightWatch's success in securing the top award and first place at the Dimensional Hackathon demonstrates the ability of STEI ITB students to transform innovative ideas into technological prototypes. This achievement further reinforces the standing of STEI ITB students in international technology competitions.
