Public Lecture: IT Entrepreneurship

On Wednesday, February 26, 2014, a public lecture on Algorithmic Strategy was held by Ir. Sam Darma Putra, President Director of PT. Arung Segara Dana, who is also an alumnus of Informatics Engineering at STEI ITB.

The lecture explains about IT Entrepreneurship which discusses IT as a science, a technology, a tool/assistant, a cultural change and way of thinking, a new livelihood, and a new business.

IT entrepreneurship isn't overly project-focused; research and development functions must continue. Human resources are an asset, but systems shouldn't become dependent on specific personnel. The bottom line is that IT is a significant business opportunity.

Opportunities will continue to exist because whatever the vertical, IT knowledge is still needed.

In-house development for companies that require IT solutions is relatively difficult due to various considerations: human resources, funds, time, and focus on the company.

The public lecture was very enthusiastic and was listened to carefully by the Informatics Engineering students of the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics.

Then it was closed with the presentation of souvenirs and mementos from the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics given by Dr. Ir. Rinaldi Munir, a Lecturer at the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, ITB.
