Guest Lecture “Mobile Application Development Opportunities”

This event was held on Friday, April 1, 2011. It took place in room 7602 and was attended by lecture participants IF4092. The topic presented at the guest lecture from PT. Nokia Indonesia was about Mobile Application Development Opportunities.

The approximately two-hour guest lecture was delivered by Ir. Narendra Wicaksono, Developer Marketing Manager at PT. Nokia Indonesia. In his presentation, he explained four important things IT developers must do:

1. Do the Right Invesment
2. Build the Right Foundation
3. Make Yourself Different
4. Solve the Problem Outside IT

Apart from that, he also explained that there are several important reasons why mobile application development at Nokia has very high and promising opportunities in the future, namely:

1. Pengguna HP mencapai 75% sedangkan pengguna PC hanya 20% saja.
2. Mobile phone subscribers in Indonesia reach 200 million per year
3. Technology Penetration for mobile is the highest, reaching 43%.
4. The Indonesian software industry is in chaos due to piracy, but mobile phone credit and content purchasing systems are still commonplace.
5. Nokia still ranks highest in terms of number of users.
