The Role of STEI Educational Staff in Research
Nana Heryana, ST, IPM, Young Expert Educational Laboratory Technician (PLP) STEI and Dr. Topik Hidayat, M.Si (UPI) were the speakers at "Workshop on Writing Scientific Papers in the Field of Laboratory Management” in West Java 1, which was held by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education, Indonesian University of Education (UPI) in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Educational Laboratory Administrators (PPLPI) West Java Region 1 on Saturday, April 9, 2016. Present at the event were Prof. Dr. phil. Ari Widodo, M.Ed (FPMIPA-UPI), Prof. Dr. Sumarto, MSIE (Head of LPPM-UPI), 151 participants representing PLP elements and Heads of Universities and Secondary Schools Laboratories.
Educational Laboratory Administrator (PLP) is a Specific Functional Position that has the scope of duties, responsibilities, and authority to manage educational laboratories held by Civil Servants with rights and obligations fully granted by authorized officials. (Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Regulation No. 3 of 2010)
Like other functional positions, PLP promotion is not automatic every 4 (four) years, but must be done through the collection of credit points from 4 (four) elements, namely: Education; laboratory management; professional development and supporting elements.
One of the credit points in professional development is the Creation of Scientific Papers (KTI) in the field of Laboratory management, which has the characteristic elements of LABU (Laboratory, Tools, Materials and Tests). The first speaker was Dr. Topik Hidayat, M.Sc. (Head of Laboratory and Lecturer of Biology FPMIPA UPI) explained about the Research Methodology of Educational Laboratory Institutions. Next, How to write scientific papers that meet the KTI PLP criteria and can be published at National seminars within the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education and the Ministry of Education and Culture was explained by Nana Heryana (PLP Young Expert STEI).
