Qt – ITB Programming Contest 2011 “New Wave in Programming Competition”

Qt – ITB Programming Contest 2011 “New Wave in Programming Competition”

After successfully holding a programming competition for high school students and university students in 2010, the Informatics Engineering Study Program of STEI ITB once again held the annual ITB Programming Contest (ITB PC) 2011. The event was held for 3 days from 7-9 November 2011 at the Labtek V Building, 2nd Floor and was opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Ir. Dwi
Hendratmo M.Sc., Ph.D. ini mengambil tema “New Wave in Programming CompetitionThis theme was chosen based on the desire to present a programming competition with a new, higher standard, as one way to increase the level of programming competition in Indonesia, so that it can strengthen Indonesia's representation in international competitions.

The main activity of this event is a programming competition that is more focused on competitive programming, for high school and college levels. ITB PC is held as a warm-up event for students and college students and presents programming contests that represent international contests, namely the International Olympiad Informatics (IOI) for high school level and ACM ICPC - an international contest for college level where both of these contests are references for the ITB PC contest, so that high school students and college students are accustomed to facing programming contests that are at the same level as international programming contests.

Slightly different from last year, ITB PC 2011 has a new face, namely the Qt ITB Programming Contest 2011. In collaboration with Nokia Developer, the Qt ITB Programming Contest also tries to introduce participants to the high potential of mobile-based application development. Thus, it is hoped that participants will be interested in developing mobile-based applications and enriching the collection of products made by the nation's children. The implementation of this collaboration was realized with a presentation from Narenda Wicaksono as Developer Manager of Nokia Indonesia who motivated the participants to create. In addition, this collaboration was also carried out in the form of using Qt Creator technology as the contest implementation environment.

In this ITB PC there are 2 main competitions, namely the ITB Senior Programming Contest 2011, which is intended for students at universities in Indonesia and the ITB Junior Programming Contest 2011 for students who are still in school and have not entered college. Both types of contests have gone through several stages of selection and finally on November 8 and 9, 2011, the final was held at ITB. For the senior programming category (November 9, 2011), after going through 5 hours of struggle, the ITB QT Code Champions are:
