Exploring the Role of Science and Technology in the Future of Health, ITB Holds ICICI-BME

As human civilization advances, science and engineering in the health sector are also developing rapidly. This is aimed at supporting human well-being, which is increasingly demanding, making research and development in health science and technology essential. The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), specifically the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI), and the School of Life Sciences and Technology (SITH), are collaborating to organize 2015 4th Internal Conference on  Instrumentation, Communication, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering (ICICI-BME) on Tuesday-Wednesday (02-03/11/15) in the East Hall of ITB from 08.00-17.00 WIB. This seminar discussed research and development in the fields of instrumentation, communication, information technology, and biomedical engineering with the title "Science and Technology for Future Health“.

This international conference invited expert speakers from various leading universities, including Prof. Eko Supriyanto (UTM, Malaysia), Prof. EY Chuang (NTU, Taiwan), Prof. Dr. Jakrapong Kaewkhao (NRPU, Thailand), Prof. Yusaku Fujii (Gunma UniveristyJapan), Dr. Kazuhito Shimada (JAXA, Japan), and Dr. Suchart Kothan (CMU, Thailand). The chief organizers of this activity were Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mitra Djamal (FMIPA) and Prof. Dr. Tati LR Mengko (STEI). The series of activities on the first day of implementation consisted of an opening and remarks by the Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi. Then continuedkeynote addresses moderated by Prof. Dr. Tati LR Mengko with several speakers, namely Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad who explained “Science and Technology in Health for Sustainable Development“, Prof. Eko Supriyanto who presented the topic “The Future of Cardiovascular Imaging“, and Dr. Kazuhito Shimada who reviewed the discussion “Safety of Emerging Universal Technologies: Drone and Nano-Bubble Water“. The activity continued with parallel session 1 during the day and parallel session 2 in the afternoon.

On the second day, in the morning it was filled by keynote addresses from several speakers, including: Jakrapong Kaewkhao who brought the topic “A Review: Luminescene from Lanthanides Doped Glasses and Aplications“, Dr. Suchart Kothan reviewed the title “Molecular Imaging of Cancer Cell Response to Chemotherapeutic Drugs Emphasized on P-Glycoproteins Function“, . from Eric Chuang, and Prof. Yusaki Fujii who discussed the topic “Abuse Prevention of Street Camera Network by Browsing-History Disclosure“. Selanjutnya terdapat parallel session 3 And workshop mengenai ICT for Community Health (Development) provided by Sahabat Bunda. This activity was very interesting, with discussions on research and technology development in the world of health, both in theory and application.
