Dongskar Pedongi is the Champion Again!
Following the victory obtained in the event National Programming Contest Jakarta at the end of last month, the Dongskar Pedongi team (Irfan Jahja IF ’09, Gregorius Ronny Kaluge IF ’08, and Cristianto Handojo IFb’10) again achieved success by taking third place in the ACM-ICPC Regional Programming Competition held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 12 & 13, 2011.
The ACM-ICPC Regional Competition was attended by 58 teams from 22 universities representing six countries in the region: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia, plus two guest teams from China and Bangladesh. First place in the competition was taken by Team Ironwood Branch from National Taiwan University, and second place was taken by the guest team ETC from Fudan University, China.
In addition to the Dongskar Pedongi team, ITB also included the young ASK team (Alif Raditya Rochman STEI’11, Salvian Reynaldi STEI’11, and Kelvin Valensius STEI’11) which managed to rank 24th out of 60 participating teams. The complete results of this Competition can be seen on the following page: http://www.iium.edu.my/acmicpc/html/
With this result, the Dongskar Pedongi team is ranked second regionally (visiting teams are not counted in the regional rankings) and has the opportunity to get a wildcard to the World Final to be held in Warsaw, Poland, May 13-18, 2012. However, this is very dependent on the results of other regional competitions.
For the next step, we ask for prayers and support from everyone so that this team can secure a ticket to advance to the World Finals and achieve maximum results in the event. Bravo, STEI – ITB.
