The Directorate General of Electricity Visits the STEI ITB Library for Benchmarking of Information Service Management
Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Bandung Institute of Technology (STEI ITB) received a benchmarking visit from the Directorate General of Electricity, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, on Wednesday (17/6/2026). The activity, which took place at the STEI ITB Library, aimed to strengthen the management and development of library services and digital information within the Directorate General of Electricity.
The visit served as a platform for sharing experiences and best practices in academic library management that support education, research, and community service. Through this activity, STEI ITB shared various aspects of library management that have been implemented, from digital information services and collection and repository management to the utilization of scientific resources to support the needs of the academic community.
In the presentation session, the STEI ITB Library team introduced the library's profile, the service systems used, and various innovations developed to improve the accessibility and quality of information services. The discussion also covered institutional repository management, scientific references, academic journals, and service development strategies that adapt to digital transformation.
In addition to the discussion session, the Directorate General of Electricity delegation had the opportunity to tour various library facilities. This activity provided an overview of space management, collection management, and the use of technology to support modern library operations.
Through this benchmarking activity, the two institutions are also exploring opportunities for collaboration in the exchange of information and publications related to the electricity, energy, and information technology sectors. This type of collaboration is expected to strengthen synergies between academia and government agencies in supporting the development of knowledge and innovation in national strategic areas.
This benchmarking visit reflects STEI ITB's commitment to continuously contributing to the development of the knowledge ecosystem and sharing best practices with various stakeholders.
