Blackberry Grows Rapidly in Indonesia
Head of Alliance in Southeast Asia, Johan Kremer, explained how BlackBerry grew rapidly in Indonesia starting in 2007. This was due to several factors, including the rise of social networking in Indonesia, provider packages, and BlackBerry penetration. Indonesia is a huge market for mobile advertising and ranks first in mobile browsing, with 661 pages per user.
The rapid growth of Blackberry in Indonesia has created numerous new business opportunities for developers to create new applications in Indonesia. This fourth event, held in a third city, is expected to encourage young developers from academia to develop applications that are useful for users.
Application Development Training
The participants were also mentored by Sarim Aziz, the Blackberry developer team leader, to create Blackberry and Playbook applications using readily available software like Adobe Flash Professional and Flash Builder. He also explained how to create web applications for Blackberry and Playbook, which can be directly simulated using simulators for both devices.
On the other hand, the participants were provided with tips for creating applications that are necessary and useful for users. These tips were given directly by Kompas as one of the media that utilizes applications on Blackberry, Tujuh Langit as a Blackberry developer that has created various applications for large companies, and Elasitas which is a developer company that is now expanding to Blackberry with various Machi Games. By sharing experiences, it is hoped that young developers can improve their abilities in creating capable applications.
