Colonel Lek Dr. Arwin Datumaya Wahyudi Sumari Receives International Award

Colonel Lek Dr. Arwin Datumaya Wahyudi Sumari, ST, MT, Economic Contingency Planning Policy Analyst, Deputy for Politics and Strategy, Secretariat General of the National Resilience Council (Wantannas) successfully achieved Best Paper Award on the forum Fourth International Conference on Advances in Computing, Electronics and Communication 2016 (ACEC 2016) which was held on December 15-16, 2016 in Rome, Italy.
At the joint international conference (joint conference) which was attended by academics, researchers and practitioners from 44 countries in the world, Arwin presented his scientific paper entitled "Information Fusion as Knowledge Extraction in an Information Processing System”.
This paper is one of the results of his research with Prof. Dr. Ir. Adang Suwandi Ahmad, DEA from Cognitive Artificial Intelligence Research Group (CAIRG), School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI), Bandung Institute of Technology.
Best Paper Award ACEC itself is the highest award in the world Institute of Research Engineers and Doctors (IRED) of the United States. This award is given to the best scientific paper in advanced science in the fields of computing, electronics, and communications.
In joint conference To date, the IRED editorial committee has received over 459 scientific papers from 44 countries worldwide. Of these, the organizers have accepted the top 250 papers for oral presentation at the conference.
In his scientific paper, Anwar presented the concept of information fusion (information fusionThis is a technology that can emulate the way humans think and process data from their five senses to obtain comprehensive information.
This information is extracted into new knowledge that is stored in the human brain. In other words, knowledge "grows" in the human brain, from nothing to something. This knowledge can be used as a basis for decision-making.
Information processing is very easy for humans to do and this mechanism runs automatically in their daily lives so that human knowledge increases along with the increasing amount of information received over time.
This cognitive mechanism is emulated through information fusion so that it can be applied to autonomous vehicles (autonomous mobile) seperti Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), Unmmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) and Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV).
The research has succeeded in building a system called Knowledge-Growing System (KGS). KGS uses the A3S (Arwin-Adang-Aciek-Sembiring) information-inference method's knowledge "growth" mechanism.
This method was discovered and developed by Arwin in 2010 in his doctoral dissertation.
