Exploring Smart Cities Collaboration Opportunities, STEI ITB Welcomes Delegation from Seoul National University

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – The School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) welcomed a delegation from Seoul National University (SNU), South Korea, on Tuesday (July 21, 2026). Held at the STEI ITB Faculty Lounge, Labtek VIII, 2nd Floor, the meeting served as an initial discussion to explore opportunities for research collaboration and joint projects in the field of Smart Cities.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of STEI ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tutun Juhana, S.T., M.T., I.P.U., together with Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng. Also present was Prof. Dr. Ing. Ir. Suhardi, M.T., a faculty member from the Information Technology Research Group at STEI ITB, who participated in discussions on potential academic and research collaborations.

The meeting followed an initiative by Professor Junseok Hwang from the Technology, Management, Economy and Policy (TEMEP) program at Seoul National University. During his visit to Indonesia, Professor Hwang initiated discussions with STEI ITB to explore collaborative opportunities focused on the development and implementation of Smart City concepts.

The discussions were conducted in a warm and constructive atmosphere. A range of strategic topics were explored, including opportunities for joint research, collaborative projects and potential partnerships between universities and other stakeholders to address the challenges of digital transformation in urban environments.

As an institution committed to advancing research and innovation in information technology, artificial intelligence, intelligent systems and digital transformation, STEI ITB continues to expand its international partnerships. Collaboration with Seoul National University is expected to strengthen global academic networks while fostering innovations that contribute to the development of sustainable smart cities.

Through this meeting, STEI ITB and Seoul National University reaffirmed their shared commitment to maintaining ongoing communication as an important first step toward broader collaboration in education, research and technological development.
