SEEI ITB Conducts Safety Induction and Drills for 224 EL2101 Laboratory Students

Bandung, stei.itb.ac.id – On 10 October 2024, the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) conducted safety induction and drills for 224 second-year students participating in the EL2101 laboratory course from the Electrical Engineering (EL), Power Engineering (EP), and Biomedical Engineering (EB) study programs. This activity aimed to provide students with basic understanding and skills related to disaster mitigation and laboratory safety. Students received theoretical briefings on earthquake mitigation, fire safety, and first aid (P3K), delivered by Ir. Habibur Muhaimin, S.T., M.Sc., the K3G officer of Labtek VIII. ..

In addition to theory sessions, students also participated in several hands-on simulations, including a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) demonstration as part of first aid training conducted by the SEEI First Aid Team led by Nopika Susilowati, Captain Floor 3 of Labtek VIII. A simulation on handling bone fractures was also provided to enhance student readiness in emergency situations. . .

The activity concluded with a fire extinguishing demonstration using portable fire extinguishers (APAR), guided by officers from ITB’s Directorate of Facilities and Infrastructure. This demonstration provided students with practical knowledge on how to respond quickly and appropriately to fire incidents.

This activity forms an essential part of safety education within SEEI ITB, preparing students to face potential risks both in academic environments and beyond campus.
