Visit to HUAWEI
On February 24, 2011, students of the Telecommunication Engineering Study Program at STEI ITB conducted an industrial visit to several telecommunications companies. One of the companies visited was PT HUAWEI TECH INVESTMENT. The participants, consisting of 40 students from the class of 2007, were given the opportunity to visit the Huawei Training Center and see demo systems for core networks, wireless access networks, and transmission networks (microwave and optical) to gain a comprehensive understanding of Huawei's core business.
Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions to operators worldwide, has demonstrated its commitment to supporting Indonesian students through several robust and sustainable CSR programs, including scholarships, research funding, and internship opportunities. As part of this initiative, Huawei recently launched the "Student Visit to Huawei" program.
The aim of this program is to provide Indonesian students with the opportunity to learn more about the most up-to-date IT industry and develop strong and mutually beneficial partnerships between Huawei and local educational institutions in Indonesia.
As an initial result, Huawei has received support from many local educational institutions. Today, as its first CSR program of 2011, the company was honored to host students from the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) for a visit.
Dani K. Ristandi, Deputy Director of Solution Sales at PT Huawei Tech Investment, stated, “Tours like this are an important initiative of our responsibility program. Our goal is to build close relationships with leading universities and help foster future leaders of the telecommunications industry in Indonesia.” He also added, “Going forward, with the enthusiastic feedback we received from students, we will continue certain initiatives and collaborate with other leading institutions in the country.”
A lecturer at STEI ITB's Telecommunications Engineering who also participated in the industrial visit said, "This is truly an interesting program to attend. Students are now aware of the industry and are able to learn something useful."
